The Chapter at Illinois State first began in the Fall of 1969 with an interest group that formed with friends in Walker and Wilikins Hall Dormitories. The interest group eventually decided to form a fraternity and petitioned the Delta Chi Fraternity to become a Colony with Eastern Illinois being their sponsor. This founding father class was initiated in the Spring of 1970. The Colony then moved into their first house in the Fall of 1970 located at 603 Broadway and chartered on May 5, 1973. In the Fall of 1973 the Chapter moved into their first owned house on Fell, after staying for two full years the University decided to move the chapter so they could build their new computer building. For the Fall of 1975 school year the chapter then moved into apartments located on Linden while they waited for completion of the first house built by Delta Chi at Illinois State. In the Spring of 1976 the Chapter moved into 608 Broadway and remained there for 9 years. Unfortunately they had financial and membership problems throughout the Eighties and they lost the house to foreclosure. The chapter later moved to 702 S. Fell, but closed in the Spring of 1986 due to falling standards.
